Two-factor authentication

This method of authentication is among the most secure ones, as it combines your unique MPIN with a one-time code sent to your registered phone number. This allows us to make sure the user is who he claims to be, and considerably decreases risks of fraud.

Norton secured

Juice transactions are secured by Norton online banking protection. This system, designed to prevent intrusions, relies on a combination of AI behavioural and antivirus engines to keep financial transactions private and secure.

MPin or Biometrics

Coupled with the rest of our safety mechanisms, an unpredictable, well-kept MPIN, or the use of biometric identification remain important to authenticate your identity in order to initiate your transaction. Remember never to share your MPIN and to change it periodically for utmost security.

Cards Management

Yes. You will be able to set a new card PIN code through Juice. To activate your new card PIN code, you need to make a transaction on an ATM (an MCB one if you’re in Mauritius). Keep it secure and confidential at all times

Yes, using your new card PIN if it is a new card. You should set a new card PIN code through Juice before you can use it.

When amending your Touch & Pay preferences, please note that you will need to perform a transaction with the related card on any MCB ATM before the changes are effective.

No, it is not a bug. If you have the module "Wealth" and see your investments, your “Cards” module is now found in the “More” section.

General information

There is no limit to the amount of time you can stay logged in. If you remain inactive for more than 300 seconds, you will be logged out automatically.

MCB Juice is the mobile application for individual customers while JuicePro is aimed at Small and Medium Enterprises.

Yes, provided that he/she is registered as ‘Juice Beneficiary’ or you have their account number. Even if a beneficiary is not an MCB customer, he/she can still receive funds via an ATM.

Yes, you should. Otherwise, you will not receive the secured six-digit code ‘One-Time Password (OTP)’ sent by SMS, needed to validate your transactions.

You will automatically receive notifications for relevant transactions as soon as you update your app to the suitable version. These notifications can be customised (disable/enable and personalise the display) directly on your phone settings through the following paths: iPhone: Settings > MCB Juice > Notifications Android: Settings > App > MCB Juice > Notifications

Please check that you have not disabled the notifications for MCB Juice on your mobile. You can still view your notification via the notification icon at the top right of your home page. To reactivate notifications, follow this path: Mobile phone Settings > Notifications > App notifications > MCB Juice and toggle on notifications.

MCB Juice is available in both English and French. You may change the language via ‘More’ module > Settings > Change language settings.

Yes, you will need an internet connection to receive your notifications. You can view all your notifications by clicking on notification at the top of the home screen of your MCB Juice app.

Yes, you can receive notifications even when the app is closed, or your screen is locked. You may personalise your preferences for notifications in your phone settings (Settings > MCB Juice > Notifications > Alerts).

Notifications will be available for six months from the transaction date.

From the notifications dashboard, open the required notification by tapping on it, then choose either “Mark ALL as Read” or “Delete notification”. Alternatively, identify the relevant notification on the list, swipe to the left, choose the delete , or mark as Read / Unread icon.

Yes, you can locate an MCB Branch/ATM by tapping on More > Locate us > ATM/Branch. When you allow MCB Juice to use location services, it will indicate branches/ATMs nearest to you. You can also filter by the services you are looking for or search for branches/ATMs within an area/region

Yes, you can access your Juice application anywhere as long as you are connected to the Internet. Contact your mobile phone operator to find out about roaming charges.

If you no longer wish to use the application, you can uninstall it from your phone. In case your mobile phone has been lost or stolen, call us on 202 6070 or visit one of our branches.

Yes, the Juice app works in a secured environment [Norton Secured] and cannot be used without your mPIN or fingerprint. Your beneficiaries will never have access to your bank account details and vice versa. For additional security, always safeguard your mPIN and card details. You will also be notified by email and SMS when a new registration is required for your MCB Juice. 

Getting MCB Juice

Yes, the app is also available for download on tablets. For the best experience however, we recommend using Juice on your mobile phone.

For your security, MCB Juice will not work on a jailbroken device.

The application is compatible with iOS 14 and above for iPhone users, Android 6 and above for Android and Huawei users.

You can download the application from App Store, Google Play Store, and Huawei App Gallery. If you are a Huawei user, we recommend getting the app from Huawei App Gallery for a better user experience. To optimise the search, please type “MCB Juice” in the search bar and download the app which appears at the top.

It can take some time for the updates to become available on all stores, so please try again in a couple of hours. Also, if you are using Android, please try to clear the Cache on your Store [Device Settings > Application Manager > Google Play Store > Storage > Clear Cache].

Invest

All your portfolios, excluding MCB funds, are now accessible on MCB Juice. 

The “Invest” feature is accessible via the “More” module.

This service is not currently available on MCB Juice.

It is the total valuation of all your listed portfolios, and the combined currency for this overview is in Mauritian Rupees (MUR), regardless of the individual currencies linked to each portfolio. 

Foreign currency rates against the Mauritian Rupee are MCB’s mid-rates. For more information, please contact your dedicated banker.

Yes, your portfolios are being updated on a near real-time basis. The value of such investments is, based on the latest price or estimate and may not reflect the actual value of your investment. Such value should not be relied upon as a representation that a transaction could have been or can be affected at the stated price. Unsettled transactions and pledged assets (if any) are not specifically marked. 

You will see the asset class allocation of the portfolio as well as how the asset class drills down into currency sub-allocation. 

You can see the list of instruments(s) per region and country for each asset class.

On the recent transactions screen, you'll find a list of your latest purchases and sold transactions for the chosen portfolio. To explore further details about a specific transaction, simply tap on it. It's important to be aware that MCB Juice currently retains only the last 60 days of transactions.

It is the profit or loss on your investment based on the current value of the investment. The value is indicative and will only be realised if you sell the investment. 

For the time being, only some asset classes are clickable. This functionality will eventually be extended to all asset classes. To view which one you can tap on it, please refer to the table below:

All trades involving the buying and selling of securities within the last 60 days will be listed in the 'recent transactions.' It does not encompass account entries such as debit or credit of funds. 

Your recent transactions card may show "No recent transactions" if you hold a portfolio with MCB Stockbrokers LTD (MSL). We are working on ensuring MSL portfolios have access to their recent transactions available on MCB Juice.

Navigate to the 'recent transactions' screen, tap on the specific trade transaction line and verify that the 'Status' is marked as 'Settled.' Additionally, check the debit/credit entry in the corresponding investment settlement account under your Accounts on the Juice Home page.  

'Balance Asset' refers to the Asset Type associated with the transaction. 

Currently, the option to view trading and commission fees is not available in this release. Please refer to the bank or consult your trade transaction contract note for details on fees.  

Access your Accounts from the Juice Home page and navigate to Current Accounts to review the corresponding investment settlement account for information on dividends and interests.  

MCB Juice Features

Investment-related statement and advices are currently not available on MCB Juice. They may still be accessed through Internet Banking or the older version of the app.

Payment & Transfer

If your request has expired, you should create a new Juice Mwa request and send same to the recipients who have not yet sent you the funds.

Kindly ensure that your notifications for MCB Juice are activated and that you are connected to the internet connection. Your notifications are available in the notification bell at the top right of the home page. The pending requests are also displayed in the Juice Mwa dashboard under 'Received'.

Click on the notification, log in and approve or decline the transaction. Verify that you do know the sender and the reason for this request is legitimate before approving the payment. In case of doubt, reject the request or contact the sender.

    Juice Mwa requests are available in the Juice Mwa dashboard (in the Pay & Transfer module) under:

    • Received: Requests sent to you and awaiting payment. If you have already paid a request, it will automatically be deleted from the dashboard.
    • Sent: Requests you have sent to your peers.

    Yes, recent transactions (purchases and sales) performed will be displayed at the bottom of the page for this specific portfolio.

    • Paid: The payment has been approved and the funds received.
    • Outstanding: The recipient has not yet approved the payment but still has time do so.
    • Rejected: The recipient has declined the payment. You can contact the person to enquire.
    • Expired: The recipient has not approved the payment within the 48 hours deadline. You can contact the person or send a new request

    The Juice Mwa feature allows you to request funds from up to 10 peers in just a few steps:

    1. Go to the 'Pay & transfer' module and select 'Juice Mwa'.
    2. Tap on 'Send a payment request'.
    3. Choose the contact to whom you want to send the Juice Mwa from your contact list.
    4. Insert the description and total amount of the payment.
    5. Select to split the amount either evenly between all selected contacts or manually inputting the desired amount for each.
    6. Select the account on which you would like to receive the funds.
    7. Send your request and await payment.


      Notes:

    Selected contacts will receive a notification on MCB Juice. They will have around 48 hours to complete the payment.
    The maximum amount that can be requested via Juice Mwa daily is Rs 50,000 cummulatively.

    To add a beneficiary, select the option when making a new payment or transfer. 

    Once you’re on the list of beneficiaries while doing a transfer/payment, you may amend the details or delete the beneficiary by selecting the edit and delete icons respectively.

    Transaction receipts can be shared via all channels available on your mobile phone, such as WhatsApp, Messenger, Email and Microsoft Teams.

    Transaction receipts provide details of completed transactions such as transfers, payments and refills. They are automatically generated after such transactions have gone through, except for own account transfers.

    When you click on the ‘Share’ button, you will be able to share the transaction receipt, but also copy the receipt, save as a file or picture and even print it, depending on the options on your mobile phone

    Simply go to More > Settings > Accounts > Change Daily Fund Transfer Limit to increase or decrease your ‘Daily Fund Transfer Limit (DFTL)’. Any change to a higher threshold will require verification using either your Debit/Credit Card details or IB credentials.

    Other local bank transfers are, by default, standard transfers. To do an instant transfer, you need to click on the switch button next to Instant Transfer. Selecting this button will trigger a message regarding applicable fees. Note: Instant Transfer using IBAN is not currently available.

    This means that you can now process an instant (immediate) transfer to any local bank connected to MauCAS, a service available 24/7. The cost is also much lower. Previously, the express transfer was only available during business hours.

    You can make instant transfers to any local commercial bank connected to MauCAS. If you have to process transfers to banks not listed for instant transfer, you can proceed with the Standard option, and for urgent requests, you can still do so via our Internet Banking platform.

    Previously with Express transfers, the transaction had to be reversed manually if an invalid bank account number was inserted. However, with the Instant feature, you will now instantly receive a confirmation if the Account Number is valid and active.

    The SMS service will be discontinued in a few months. Until then, you will receive both an SMS and an app notification for some transactions.

    In order to execute the QR payment successfully, the merchant’s outlet name, mobile phone number as well as account number is stored in the QR code. No further information about the Juice user or the merchant is part of the QR code.

    All available billers are displayed under 6 main categories. You may also type the name of the biller in the search bar found at the top of the screen. Note: For payments to Government entities, please go through www.fasil.mu to get the payment reference to input on MCB Juice. 

    For some billers, you can choose which bill you want to pay by paying the amount due in full or partially. The minimum amount that you can insert is MUR 25.

    Each biller requires different information such as contract number, account number, policy number, etc

    Some billers will receive your payment instantly, while it may take a few business days for others. When making your payment, this timeframe will clearly be indicated.

    Please contact the respective biller before paying the bill on MCB Juice.

    Only accounts held in Mauritian Rupees can currently be used to pay bill.

    The recipient will not be able to collect the funds if the 4-digit Payment PIN is not shared. Uncollected funds will be automatically credited to your account after 48 hours.

    This feature, which allows cash withdrawals to be made at MCB ATMs without a card, has been renamed Cardless Cash and is found in the Pay & Transfer module. Note that the following PIN types are not allowed for the 4-digit payment PIN:

    Repeating patterns of digits (eg: 1111)

    Consecutive numbers (eg: 1234)

    Palindrome numbers (sequence reads the same backward as forward, eg: 1221)

    A cardless cash transaction is valid for 48 hours. If the funds are not collected within this timeframe, the transaction is annulled and the funds credited back to sender’s account.

    No. You or your beneficiary will have to insert both the four-digit Payment PIN communicated by the sender, the six-digit Collect PIN communicated by the bank and the exact amount to withdraw the funds.

    The transaction will stay visible in the history for 2 weeks after which it will disappear.

    MCB Juice will specify exactly which payment reference (e.g.: contract number, policy number, etc) should be inserted for each biller. If you encounter any such error messages, please check that the reference you inserted tallies exactly with the corresponding reference on your bill or agreement initially provided by the biller.

    You have five minutes to confirm or reject the payment. Past this deadline, you will need to send the request anew from the e-commerce website.

    The 'Request to pay' feature enables e-commerce merchants to send a payment request to your MCB Juice. To pay by MCB Juice at your e-commerce merchant, you must select ‘Payment by MCB Juice’ at the payment stage of your transaction and insert your registered mobile number. You can then authorize the payment by acting on the notification received on your MCB Juice. Payment details will be pre-filled automatically. Notes:

    Before proceeding, please verify the merchant identity, the amount and the order number of your request. All payment approvals are final.

    This feature is only available for online purchases at registered MCB Juice Merchants.

    Yes, you can set up standing orders while effecting your payments for own account transfers, MCB account and local bank account transfers.

    Note:

    • Refer to Fees and Charges for applicable fees.
    • Standing orders cannot be initiated from Rupys or Current FCY accounts

    All standing orders initiated on MCB Juice will be displayed in the ‘More’ section under the ‘Manage Standing Orders’ option. You can view and cancel any active standing order.

    Yes, only standing orders set up on MCB Juice are visible for now.

    Paypal

    Any Mauritian resident over 18 years old with a Mauritian PayPal account and an MCB account, registered to Juice, can use PayPal services on Juice.

    A PayPal account is not a bank account. It is a virtual wallet that can be used online to receive payments securely or to pay for goods and services online. You do not earn interest on a PayPal account balance.

    •  It is safer: You can buy or sell any item without sharing your full financial information 
    • It is faster: You do not need to enter your card details every time you make a transaction online as your information is already stored in your account. Check outs are done more conveniently with PayPal 
    • It is easier: You only need an email address and password to pay online

    PayPal uses the highest levels of data encryption available and meets all Payment Card Industry(PCI) data protection standards imposed by the main credit card associations worldwide, which allows you to do your transactions securely.

    • You need an MCB credit card to verify your PayPal account
    • Log in to your PayPal account on www.paypal.com, go to ‘Profile’ and follow the steps to complete your profile

    PayPal features are available in the ‘Pay & Transfer’ module

    You will be able to perform the following PayPal transactions on the new app:

    • Link your existing PayPal account
    • Top up your PayPal account
    • Send money to a third-party PayPal user from your PayPal account
    • Withdraw money from your PayPal account
    • Unlink your existing PayPal Account

    While PayPal allows accounts to be held in various currencies, you can only view and transact on your PayPal accounts held in USD on MCB Juice. MCB Juice will thus only show the balance on your USD PayPal Account, not the USD equivalent of all your PayPal balances. For instance, in scenario hereunder, MCB Juice would display a balance of USD 0.00. 

    The PayPal Withdraw and Send money features are not available when the balance on the USD account is nil.

    This option is currently not available on MCB Juice. You will need to create your PayPal account with a registered Mauritian address on www.paypal.com. Once this is done, you will be able to link this account to MCB Juice.

    You can only link one PayPal account.

    You will only be able to link your PayPal account to MCB Juice if the address registered to your PayPal account is a Mauritian one. Verify in your PayPal account settings whether the country is set to Mauritius. If it is not, please close the existing PayPal account and open a new one with the correct address.

    You will see your PayPal account balance on the PayPal dashboard directly on your Juice app.

    PayPal does not support the Mauritian Rupee (MUR). Hence, all transactions are carried out in US Dollars (USD).

    It allows you to transfer funds instantly from your MCB Savings or Current account to your PayPal account to cover your online shopping or payment needs. Funds transferred to your PayPal account are available for immediate use.

    It allows you to send money to other PayPal users directly from your own PayPal account to your beneficiaries’ PayPal account, using only their email address. You will be able to send money from your available PayPal balance.

    The funds are available instantly to the recipient who can then:

    • Use the funds for online shopping purposes or to make payments
    • Withdraw the funds and transfer them to a bank account

    All you need is the email address that your recipient has added to his/her PayPal account.

    No. This service is only available through Juice.

     You can top up/send any amount of at least USD 1.00 and withdraw from USD 5.00. PayPal rules, regulations and requirements shall prevail for the transactions verification process.

    If your PayPal account is ‘Verified’, there is no limit on the total amount of money you can send from your account. However, you may be limited to $10,000, in a single transaction. (This amount can vary depending on your currency.)

    If your account is ‘Unverified’, there’s a limit on the total amount of money you can send from your account.

    Yes. Both you and the recipient will receive a confirmation email from PayPal once the transfer is completed.

    No, this is not a requirement. 

    • MCB and PayPal do not charge any fee to open a PayPal account or ‘Send money’ transactions 
    • MCB will charge a fee for ‘Top up’ and ‘Withdrawal’ transactions
    • MCB will convert your withdrawal funds from USD to MUR and your ‘Top up’ from MUR to USD according to bank’s daily conversion rate
    • Associated fees and conversion rates are available on www.mcb.mu

    • It allows you, as an MCB PayPal account holder, to withdraw funds available in your PayPal account and transfer it to any of your MCB accounts (Funds cannot be paid to an MCB credit card). This service is available to Mauritian residents only as per PayPal’s rules 
    • It is exclusive to MCB Bank customers, and is only accessible through Juice
    • It is available to both individual customers and online sellers having an MCB account with access to Juice
    • When withdrawing funds from your PayPal account, you are required to specify the amount you want to withdraw in US Dollars (USD).
    • If your account contains funds in another currency, the funds will be converted automatically to USD first and the withdrawal will be completed  Your MCB account will be credited in the destination account currency with the net amount due to you, after all fees have been deducted and currency conversion from USD to the destination account currency
    • A withdrawal transaction may take up to 3 business days to be available in the designated MCB account

    You will soon be able to see this on your ‘Withdrawal’ Dashboard. In the meantime, please check your bank account - withdrawals are reflected in your bank account within 3 days approximately.

    • Payment on the PayPal platform is almost instant
    • Account ‘Top up’ is instantly reflected in your PayPal account
    • Account ‘Send money’ is almost instantly reflected in your recipient’s PayPal account
    • ‘Withdrawal’ from a PayPal account takes a maximum of 3 business days to reflect in your linked MCB account

    Some restrictions may apply and may vary according to each country’s specific laws and policies. For more details, log on www.paypal.com. 

    Log in to your PayPal account on www.paypal.com, go to Profile> Account Options > Close your Account.

    This feature is now available on MCB Juice. First tap on the 3 dots from the PayPal Dashboard, then select “Unlink PayPal Account”.

    Log in to your PayPal account on www.paypal.com and make the changesin the Settings section. You will be able to add or change your address (excluding the country), update mobile number, etc. 

    Contact PayPal immediately via the ‘Contact Us’ or ‘Help’ options in your PayPal account.

    Registration and Login

    This additional security measure has been implemented to keep your accounts safe. Please call us on 202 6060 to unlock your profile.

    Yes. The information is requested in a secure and encrypted environment where all security measures have been taken to protect your data.

    Please check that you are using a valid (check ‘valid thru’ and ‘valid until’ dates) MCB Debit or Credit Card (prepaid and Fleetman cards cannot be used to register) and that you are entering the correct information. If this is a new card, you will first need to activate it in the following ways:

    Visit any MCB branch or call on 202 6070 for assistance.

    You can also register using the same credentials as you use on Internet Banking. You will only be required to insert your User ID and Password.

    For security reasons, do not proceed with registration of your Juice account as confirmation details of your future transactions will be sent to this mobile number. To update your mobile phone number, visit any MCB branch, contact your Account officer or call us on +230 202 6070 (lines are open 24/7).

    Please check that you’re using the right PIN associated with the card details you have input. In case you have forgotten your card PIN, please change it in branch as per established processes.

    Your device name might not be accepted by the system. Please verify your device name in your mobile phone’s settings to ensure that it does not contain any special characters (ex: $£%&*#) and try to register again.

    Set your new mPIN

    Yes, you will still be able to do so. Your mPIN or fingerprint allows you to access Juice and works independently from Internet Banking.

    Touch ID/fingerprint authentication allows you to log in to your Juice app with any of the fingerprints that you’ve set up on your device, instead of your mPIN. Your biometrics details remain stored on your device and will never be kept on the Juice app.

    You may set it up when you onboard the first time, or configure it in your settings (“More” module > Settings > Configure biometric login).

    Touch ID/fingerprint authentication recognises all fingerprints registered in your device. We recommend that you do not register third party fingerprints in your device to ensure the protection of your app and personal data on your phone.

    If a new device is used to register/access your MCB Juice, as a security measure, you will be notified by email and SMS. Information regarding the date and time of registration, phone model, etc., will be provided to you for easy identification. In case it was not you, we urge you to contact your account officer or call on 2028080 immediately. We recommend that you keep us updated about your contact details.

    Validation of transactions

    MCB Juice comes with an autofill function of the OTP, which allows transactions to be more conveniently validated, thus making the transaction faster without compromising on security. On Android phones, the OTP is automatically inserted without your intervention, while on iOS you can fill the OTP by clicking on the suggested prompt (see example below).

    In MCB Juice, any transaction requiring validation can only be authenticated with the One Time Password (OTP). As such, use of mPIN will only be for log in. The token is not needed at all.

    Where required, the validation of Juice transactions can only be done via One Time Passwords (OTP), which are sent by SMS. If you are not receiving the OTP, you may proceed with the transactions through your Internet Banking.

    It could be due to the following reasons:  Your mobile phone number may not be registered at our level. Visit any MCB branch or call us on 202 6070 to update your personal details.

    Service delays by your mobile service provider. Please try the “resend OTP” feature.

    Your mobile phone may be out of network coverage. Try to shift to an area with better network coverage. If the issue persists, please call us on 202 6070 for further assistance.

    For your convenience, own account transfers and payment to your own credit cards do not require validation. Additionally, for faster transactions, cumulative daily transactions of up to Mur 2,500 also do not require any validation. 

    The auto-fill feature only works when the OTP is received on the same device where Juice is being used.
